Cover bands

have been at some point the best option for me

to fund my stay in Bucharest and pursue my dream of becoming a musician.

I was earning my living by making music and performing,

so even though this was never a long-term “occupation” for me,

I was happy at the time, because I didn’t have to take on another kind of job.

It was still music afterall, and a lot of fun, too.

I started my “cover band” journey with the band called “Arena”,

a band that used to play at weddings and private events,

and which was also part of the weekly televised show

“Serviciul Roman de Comedie” (“Central Comedy Agency”),

which was born from the very popular Romanian show “Divertis”.

While I accepted lots of offers and collaborated with different kinds of cover bands,

the other ones to mention are “Power Station” and “Maria Radu Band”,

with whom I have played in many private events.

Once I realized that this activity severely reduced my time available for writing songs,

I decided to change my focus from cover bands to making music in the studio,

so I haven’t played in cover bands for quite a while now, and not planning to in the future.

However, the skills I gathered while doing that have been a great asset ever since.
